Spray Polyurethane Foam

It Sounds Great!

On the surface it sounds great. Spray polyurethane foam (SPF) offers a quick roof and great insulation properties. Those are two of the selling points of spray polyurethane foam roofing, but this type of roof isn’t a perfect fit for all. Before investing in any industrial roof system, it pays to examine your options and research the pros and cons. We can help you with this, just give us a call!

Long Term Considerations

The cost of tearing off a spray foam roof compared to a high quality single ply roofing system is more than double. Service ability of a spray foam roof is difficult with cold winters. When water penetrates the surface and freezes, it expands and can blow apart the foam roofing system from the inside out. It is not uncommon to walk an old foam roof and find pockets of water, mold and algae throughout the roofing system. Because there are so few spray foam contractors in the market, you may be stuck with your original contractor for the life of the roof.

The Simple Question

The biggest question to ask yourself is, “if spray foam roofs are as great as the spray foam contractor says, how come everyone is not installing a spray foam roof?” The answer is simple, because everything has its place and proper application. To determine if a spray foam roof is a good choice for your industrial building, contact our team. We install almost every type of roofing system there is, and will give you a variety of economical options.
